Hey everyone! I'm new here, and I just had some questions to ask regarding a live set up as well as a studio set up.

A little background, I go by the name of SubTronik and I am a hip hop instrumental artist out of Toronto. I have a little mixtape thing out that you can check out for free at http://www.SubTronik.bandcamp.com (I'm just throwing that in there so you guys can maybe get an idea of what I sound like so maybe you can imagine what I am trying to accomplish a little clearer). Anyway! So lol, after completing that project, I am in the process of upgrading my studio, and coordinating live shows. I was thinking about going with a MPC 2000xl (it wins out over the 3000/60/60II+s950 combo because of the portability). I first started making beats using FL studio and now I pretty much would like to do all my like sequencing and what not in the MPC and then track it out I'm guessing through an M-box into Fl and arrange everything there.

I also want to use it to do shows. I would pretty much be doing the whole mute/un mute track thing along with a little bit of drum programming and other random stuff. However, as you will hear if you check out my mixtape lol, I have a massive love affair with the delay feature. To my understanding, (which isn't much when it comes to hardware :? ) to be able to do that I would then have to upgrade/buy an upgraded mpc with the eb16 effects card? Is there anyway that I could kind of track my mpc out to a mixer or something, like a tapco 220fx and add the delay there? I will also have a rane ttm57 set up with some technics.

Thank you so much in advance, and please excuse my ignorance :) I only know 2 people with mpcs and one doesn't know how to use it and the other is one of those unhelpful, "if I tell you, then I will have to kill you" on the low type of people (yeesh)

Hey, fellow newby - I just got an MPC2000 off of eBay. I play in a heavy rock band (http://www.floodwatchnh.com/), with a side solo project (http://www.eutoxita.com/) and a side duo project (http://www.myspace.com/myfathersguns). Floodwatch's drummer up and R-U-N-N-O-F-T so we're merging Floodwatch and My Father's Guns and replacing his ass with the MPC. BOOOYAAAA!!!!

Anyhow... You can totally send the outs of your MPC to a mixer or effects unit to go delay crazy, especially if you have a unit with the multiple-outputs option. I know there's no way I'm dropping cash on the effects board when there are so many sick effcets units out there for low cash.

Sure you can use an external source for efx on a mixer if you don't wanna use the mpc's efx. The aux inputs on a mixer allow for the connection of external efx, so if you want to use external efx with your mpc, you can do it.

Cool! So I'm assuming then I should look for one with the 8 outs and then connect it to an effects mixer? Maybe the Tapco 260fx?
