I've got a problem

I just bought a used MPC 1000. When I press mode the button flashes like it should, but then when I press a pad to select a mode, nothing happens. also It didn't come with a Compact flash card.

Everything loaded as usual and all that? Sounds, sequences and whatever else?

If not, did you get a manual or downloaded it from akaipro.com?
