Distortion when connected to mixer

Right guys i was using a mac till it went knackered and i have the headphone jack connected to my mixer and i could turn it up as loud as i liked and there was no distortion now i moved to my dell and the set up is the same but when my mixer is connected and i turn the volume up a bit you can hear distortion kind of like an outside interferance.

the headphone out on your dell is probably not line level

You'll need to go into the audio properties on your pc and make some adjustments.
