Im very new with working a MPC so please bear with me. I just linked up my mpc 2500 with a MOTIF XS8 for sampling. When im in the record mode on the mpc, i can sample the sounds from the motif. But on certain keys, they play the sounds from the mpc with the sounds from the motif. Ive tried everything to cancel out the mpc sounds when i hit the piano keys, but i justy cant do it....please help!!!!

If you just want to sample, you don't need to have the midi connected between the two necessarily. Do this after you've done your sampling.

I don't know if this was your intentions, but unless you plan on sync'n the two together, no need to use it until otherwise.

True, but I can understand it's anoying for the OP the disconnect and reconnect midi cables for recording a few samples.

Anyway, go to the [midi/sync] menu. Somewhere (I believe it's on the 'sync' page) u have the function 'pad to sampler'. Turn it off.

Turn the volume down on the MPC.

Load a blank program on the MPC.

Change the midi receive channel of the MPC program.

Change the midi channel of the Motif.

I could go on...
