i started out generally with 80bpm and would work with 4 bar segments
between 60bpm and 100bpm is what almost all my beats were

now after watching some videos of chuck inglish i decided to try out 140bpm
and it is working nicely but not for soul samples at all - also due to it being
almost twice as fast as my old beats i changed 4 bars to 8 bars

so im just seein what u guys work with cuz i dont know anyone else that has a mpc or hardware - just flstudio n reason type shit

77-79 82, 84- 86, 87 ( really like 87 for soul) 90-93 ( 93 9th wonder uses alot) when i started i was stuck on 97, mostly do 90-93. 64 to me seems to be the main comercial speed.

a while back i was going through a 100/200 faze... lately I have been doing 80/160 because if the types of stuff I have been making... and there are also moments of 75/150. Often songs have some patterns at for example 80 bpm layered with patterns at 160.

I tried that today and you're right... I never realized what I was doing wrong. Have you tried 92.340 bpm? It isn't as clean as 92.3 but it gives it that swing.
