Can i adjust the volume level of an entire track, eg if i play a conga loop can i lower the level of the entire track or just the individual samples seperately?

Yes you can
It's on the main page, called velocity.
Can't give you more info without knowing which MPC you are using.

Velocity? That just changes the amount of pressure applied to each sample. Use the mixer. Press mode then mixeecr. Then select the track number and lower the level of that track.

Ive always been taught that its better to adjust any volume/eq in your daw when you track out your beat..but if your just tryin to keep it on the mpc ^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yeah, I was about to say that too...Velocity???

Also you can adjust the volume of a sample in Program mode or in Trim.

Volume and tune in the mpc. Sending a soft clip signal source to your daw yields very little room for dynamics. Often times when you send audio to daw full blast, you 500hz and up signal are at the celling. That makes mastering and eq'ing very difficult. I would rather raise track volume then try to lower and fix distortion... food for thought.
