Step by Step

first off i wish the manual had a step by step DVD
so i have a few cds with lots of programs
what i need to learn how to take sounds from different programs and assign to pads..thats called a multi correct?
that way i can have some drums on pads 1-4 some hits on 5-8 some sweeps on 9-12 and some fx on 13-15 ext.
im just a super n00b and really need some help here..

We're not that good at mind reading. Can we assume that you are using the MPC4000?
There's a lot of MPC models out there.

i do have the 4000.. =D
probably not the best for a beginner but i got an offer i couldn't refuse

That would be a PROGRAM not a MULTI.

I would suggest you concentrate on creating programs which involves.

1. Creating or loading samples.
2. Assigning samples to a program/ pad.
3. Saving programs.

A program is a collection of individual samples, a multi is a collection of individual programs.
Plenty of information on this in the 4000 forum, don't pin your hopes on someone coming round to teach you.
