I just got an mpd 26. I have it connected with Logic. It all works well. The thing is, when i assign samples to the pads, i want them to trigger just by hitting the pad. When i had an mpc it would do that. But now I have to hold down the pad to play out the entire sample. Anyone know how to get that to work? Thanks.

I have the 32 and as far as I know... there are only 2 pad settings, toggle and momentary. Momentary, the sample sounds as long as you hold the pad. Toggle, you hit the pad and it plays the sample until you hit the pad again. Any other settings would have to be done in the software. I'm not a Logic user so I don't know about that. Hope that helps.

This is another MPD question I have been wondering...I don't mean to jack the thread, I am just hoping to get additional MPD related information in a consolidated area without having to start a new thread.

Does the MPD line have to be used with a Daw/computer or can I just use it as a midi controller for like an Akai S-series sampler or other rack unit?

that mpd I dont think so, because I suspect it may not have a midi output though I could be wrong... however for example the mpd 16 can because it does have a midi output. keep in mind though you would need a power adapter to give the controller power.

also... as for the mono/poly thing... the best way to solve that is in your DAW... try extending the release of the sample in the ADSR settings.

Yes, the MPD32 has MIDI in/out as well as USB. It can be used to control hardware but needs external power. And as far as I know you can't use the USB MIDI and the 5 pin connection at the same time.
