my friend has given me his MPC for only a month to see if I want to buy it... I have no manuals or nothing.. (akai 2500)

SO FAR.. I have everything hooked up.. My issues are as follows

1. On FL studio, i'm having latency issues (meaning I touch my mpc, and the MIDI reaction is a 5th of a second late). any answers on that?

2. ONE OF THE BIGGER ISSUES: On the FPC on FL studio, I have samples that last longer than a second. What I want to do is to be able to hit one button, activate that sample, and then hit another button to activate another sample and have the previous one stop playing, but they blend together.. HOW DO I TURN THAT OPTION OFF SO THAT THE SAMPLE CUTS OFF WHEN I ACTIVATE ANOTHER ONE?

3. Final issue: Sometimes when I record a pattern, its a bit off beat. Is there some kind of tool option I can use to sync my beats to a 4/4 time so to speak?

I NEED THESE ISSUES RESOLVED. If anyone could help me out, i would really appreciate it. thanks much.

1. Latency has to do with your sound card settings. Check the manual for this.
2. FPC is an Imageline product. FPC settings will be in the Fl Studio manual. Here's a hint. Click on FPC and press F1.
3. The tool you are referring to is called quantization. Quantization settings on the MPC can be found in the manual. The manual can be found on Akaipro.com. Also, This website called Google can be helpful as well.
