Best beginning MPC (1000, 4000, 2000)?

I know this post will probably get a lot of hate, especially considering that I just joined to post it, but I am about to buy an MPC. I've looked at tons of comparisons between models, but none have really talked about for a beginner. I have zero experience with one, but I have never been so excited about a product before and I am willing to really spend time learning my way around whatever machine I get. I have been looking exhaustingly into this and have found a 4000 that is in my range. Also I could get a 1000 with the upgraded pads and 128 ram. Which is best for a beginner? The 4000 is hard to turn down, it just looks so powerful and fun, but the 1000 is a bit more streamlined. Is jj really that much easier? What kinds of obstacles will I face trying to learn on each? If i get the 1000 will I regret it once I learn my way around it? If any body could offer any feedback at all it would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the lengthy post, pretty big investment for me, don't want to **** it up.

i think you would be fine with a 1k.

i have never used a 4k or 2k, but the 1k is dope, and the jjos is REALLY dope.

i have heard the 4k has a little bit more of a learning curve; but i dont think you will necessarily grow out of the 1k, unless you need more outs which i dont know if the 4k even has.

Stalk Craigslist and nab a 1k cheap. Kids are always getting this model expecting "Instant Magic" and then dissapointedly selling them dirt cheap on CL. Throw the upgrades (pads, OS) on it and you are set. IF you ever need more outs you can then move seamlessly to the 2500 because they read the same files.

+2 i would get a nice used 1k and the jjos that costs money (its like 60 bucks i think? maybe 40?) not the free one. and youll still be paying wayy less than a 4k.

I know a lot of people around here like the 500. Maybe you should consider this as well.

500 is awesome, but may be a bit complicated / cryptic for a beginner. I could be wrong tho.

i'd get a 1000, does what you want and is reasonably priced. just make sure if 2nd hand has new style pads, if new then nothing to worry about for a while as has a warranty unlike older used models

What kind of music do you want to make? Is this something you see yourself sticking with? If so, Id say get the 4000. If you buy a 1000 your going to be thinking about that 4000.
If it were me..... I'd treat myself to a 2500,4000 or 5000.
