Hello All,

I have been using my MPC 500 for about 7 months now and have really picked it up. Really love this machine and I recommend it to all beginners low on cash looking for a cheap machine. I myself currently am looking to buy a MPC 1000 in the future for a few new features I'd like to provide to my beat making.

Any ways, enough about me. I got bad news. I recently did a clean install on my laptop (Vista SP1 clean install) because the operating system is garbage. (NTFS blows big time and now I see why Apple is superior in terms of file managing [lol geek moment]).

I was just wondering what you better guys use for storing and managing your .WAV libraries. I have used iTunes and FL Studio to kinda keep my projects together, but it usually becomes a hassle. I realize that it may be the best thing right now, but before I go after that software again, I wish to hear personal opinions in managing your .WAV files.

If you could supply me with some decent software names, I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance!

Well all my files are stored on my hard drive and it runs on Windows Vista ( :roll: yeah, I know) but you can organize your wav.files in the Music folder.

Thanks for the reply. I was more so looking for something that plays the .WAV quickly rather than opening the file with the program like Windows player so I know what samples I want to use. I guess I will just stick with FL Studio since it's the easiest for quickly playing samples.

I've been looking for something similar to iced audio for the mac (see http://www.icedaudio.com/index.html) and the options just aren't that great on the PC.

I've found;

http://www.baseheadinc.com/basehead-feature-overview <about $300 and just ok
http://www.fnprg.com/catraxx/ < only $40 but not loving it
http://www.maniactools.com/soft/media_catalog_studio/index.shtml?version=5.5&b=142 < $25 bucks
