Saving In Pro Tools

Hi, I'm trying to save my songs that i made in pro tools... I've saved them (Bounce > Disk..ECT.) to WAV but there's no sound, only the "Click" (which i recently turned off). I was wondering what the setup is to get my MPC sounds AS WELL AS my keyboard sounds (and eventually vocals) to play as a WAV. My Keyboard is hooked up to my MPC (MIDI) and my MPC is hooked up to my M-audio Fast track ultra (MIDI)...So yeah, I was wondering what i have to do in order to hear them when i save (bounce) the file to WAV.

Well, rereading your post again, I must tell you that MIDI is just a transfer of data, it doesn't pass audio or samples, just the timing of notes and parameters.

You would have to connect the 1/4" outs of your MPC to an audio interface in order to hear sound. I'm sure your performance was recorded via MIDI but the sound has to be rerecorded.

Thanks, I got the MPC sounds to work... Im just trying to figure out how to get my keyboard to work when I bounce it now... im guessing its the same thing but correct me if i'm wrong. Let me tell you my setup; Keyboard to MPC, Keyboard to my MACKIE mixer, and MPC to M-audio FTU.

So would 1/4'' to 1/4'' (Interface to mixer) get my keyboard to work when I bounce it in pro tools? Thanks... ill b experimenting

that should work.

keyboard > 1/4 inch stereo out (should take up two mixer channels), to the input of your mixer then the output of your mixer INTO your interface and record it.

Thanks, yeah i was messing around with all the cables and got it working.

*I have one more problem, when i record and bounce a drum beat from my mpc and play it back the sound quality is very poor, it sounds like it's blown out or somthing. Anyone know how I can solve this?

are your levels clipping in protools?

you dont want the little red clip light above the meter bridge. adjust your levels accordingly and it should work itself out.

shoot for maybe 3/4 of the way full.

no problem, youll also want to make a master fader, when you get to mixing your songs/beats think of it as a fader that takes the sum of all the parts of the song, and make sure that one doesnt clip either.
that is the most basic mixing you can do.
