a list of stuff i need to hook up the mpc 200xl

im trying to hook up my mpc 200xl to my logic pro 9 i have a piano keyboard with a audio out plug in the back im just tryign to get answers to simples questions lol im not to sure how to work this site either but can someone help me with a list of stuff i have to buy and how to hook it up or a post that answers this question thanks

well are you trying to record stuff you made in the mpc into the computer? what exactly are you trying to achieve? I suggest learning what the mpc can all do on it's own before jumping in to quick trying to synchronize two separate machines without needing specific features.

there are a few different things you could do when you talk about connecting your mpc to the computer.

one is you could be trying to record your mpc beats onto your computer so you could show us...

or you could be trying to use your mpc as a pad controller like an mpd so you could play sounds in your music program

or you could be trying to make mpc beats that also have some components that come from digital instruments in the music program.

each of those jobs require different wires and what not.

To the op, got a pic of that 200xl?

Plus I wonder what's the maturity level of most of the newer members around here (not to mention our mainstreamers too).

im almost certain its something along the lines of midi cables & trs cables, but who knows...

You need to go to and get another 1800. Then you would have a 2000xl!!

i seen some guy on youtube control his mpc from the computer using the mpcs metronome and all i wanna be able to easily get the saples form my computer make them a beat on the mpc and tyhen save it back on my macbook to maybe put some synthesizers or strings or somethign now for the guy who asked about me goign to school im goign to school to learn how to do this stuff so i dotn have to post on here and get negative feed back i never knew this was a bash sight i thoyught this was a sight to help with questions people have but back to the first reply i basically need to get some beats started to give the school some samples and and all i have is a casio WK- 200 MPC 200XL AND A MACBOOK WITH LOGIC STUDIO WITH SOME SAMPLE PACKS I BOUGHT FROM A GUITAR CENTER SO SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME HAHAH AND NO IM NOT TRYNA SPAM THIS SIGHT JUST TRYNA GET AS MUCH INFO AS I CAN I UNDERSTAND THE MPC IS A SAMPLEING BEAT MAKIGN MACHINE ( sorry for the caps lo l) but i wanna knwo if maybe i can load some samples on there witout a dj turntable and just take it from my computer i mean if i have to buy the zip disks and upload the sampels on thwere and hten connect them to my mpc i will i just wanna knwo what kind of wires and cable and stuff i need to connect this mpc and get it up and running lol so any help ( non negative ) is greatly appreciated

of course you can get samples on your mpc without a turntable, that's a stupid question. hook up ANY sound source to the MPC inputs and sample it. connect a CD player, an ipod, OR YOUR COMPUTER. just get the right cables to go OUT FROM the thing making the noise and IN TO the mpc.
