I have the same problem on an MPC 500 and VST service could not fix my problem. In fact, they charged me for parts and labor but it still has the problem. I'd love to know more about this problem.

That link is to the 2500 service manual. If you want to do it yourself, then learn to solder, and replace the bad board.

If not, then get it serviced by a professional either at http://vstservice.com or http://mpcstuff.com.
