cd-rom drive not detected

I put it in(the cd-rom drive). It has power. I put the Akai CD-ROM in and it(MPC 4000) doesnt seem to notice it. I thought it should list all the sounds like it does on the computer. Im paranoid about opening up the MPC again.

Also, this was posted a while ago and the answer was no but I thought things might have changed. I s it possible to burn to cd directly from the MPC 4000 into the CD-ROM drive.

the mpc can only record data not sound.It records sound as data so what you sample can be played back in the mpc but not on a cd player.
Go to the load screen then cursor up to to disk then turn the jog wheel
now if your cd drive is hooked up right and you have a readable cd in there it should show up----if not you did not hook up the cd drive right, in that case best thing is to take it to a shop to have it hooked up right...............[/b][/list][/quote]
