Just got a MPC1000, and am def. a "newb"

would like to know what the best way to organize samples is?
Is there software to do this? I'd like to do this for quicker naming of samples etc.

ideas?

Try the freeware CKRename to do bulk file renaming. You have the 1000 so download the freeware BlueBox. You make the kits on the desktop and then transfer the saved folders to a CF card over the USB cable. Also give MPC Maid (also free) a look, some prefer Blue Box while others like MPC Maid. These 2 apps will handle the renaming, and then I'd suggest saving using the 'export .pgm with samples' selection, in case you want to keep the original file names on your HD.

Have fun with the 1000, and probably most any question you'll have is somewhere in this forums archives. Just a tip, use Google to input your "how do I [......] on MPC 1000" questions. The search engine on the site is at the mercy of years and years of the same keywords, so it can hard to narrow it down. Google searches usually take you to an appropriate thread quicker. :)

thanks again really appreciate it!

Mac? You'll have to go with MPC Maid then.

the most annoying thing to me on the mpc1000 is that it´s impossible to enter numbers with the numeric button
for sample names at the record section...
i have to use the data knoob all the time...
i believe this was possible with the mpc2k

I believe you can use the pads to enter numbers and letters. But I'm coming from the 500.
