Here is my set up, I have a MPC 1000, Korg Mirco X, a stanton turntable, a eurorack mixer to hook everything up to and a laptop with Cool Edit Pro. Everything is boxed up besides the labtop. I bought all this equipment over a year ago, I moved and its been boxed up since. Only thing I need help with is syncing it to Cool edit. Can someone tell me exactly what I need to do it. Will it work with Cool Edit Pro? Or do I need another program to mix?? someone please help, I wanna get starting on making my music again, dont want this equipment go to waste.

What do you mean by 'syncing'?

Does CEP have it's own internal sequencer or is it just an audio editor?

Your answer confirms that you don't know what you're talking about, yet.

Good luck with that.

There is a forum called 'Getting Started' where beginners can post.

You don't seem to know what 'syncing' means, maybe you should find out before posting threads asking how to do it...

You need an AUDIO INTERFACE and a DAW.

Not trying to be a smart ass or a spoonfeeder.

1. connect your mpc midi out to your pc´s midi in.
2. right click on the play button in the reaper transport bar
3. tick "enable synchronization to timecode"
4. set "use input" to MPC: the midi in your mpc´s midi out is connected to (if you are not sure which input to set choose "MTC: all inputs")
5. hit play in reaper...it will wait for your mpc´s midi time code to start.
6. hit play start on your mpc and reaper will follow.

but remember:

synching only makes sense if you are tracking different tracks at once. if you´re only gonna record your mpc main outs (2 channels) then you don´t need to sync the mpc with your computer.

easiest way is to not use the audio interface and avoid 'synching' issues.

instead, resample each track, then drop and drag the resulting file into your DAW using USB.

in sequence mode, add one bar of snare hits to the beginning of your tracks. then use these to line up each track in the DAW.

is it too late to return the audio interface?
