USB/Midi cord for MPC 1000

Im still learning how to use my MPC 1000, I want to connect my MPC 1000 to my PC and record on a program like COOL Edit pro, and I just bought Reaper. My question is how do I connect it? I order a USB/Midi cord (one end is usb to stick in computer and other end is midi to stick in MPC) Will this work? I need help, thanks

thanks for the reply. i read online that u cant sync Cool edit with the MPC 1000. would u know if this is true or not?

don´t know. i ain´t using cool edit nor the 1000
