2500 jjos 3.10 noob question

edit: first part of my question was self-answered with an OS re-load. First install bugged somehow and didnt have some features working.

Oh an a side note: im guessing installing a HD would make sample loading and file browsing much for conveinent instead of loading from the memory card everytime? Anything else I should install/do to increase load times and workflow?

main difference is size. but i find a 2gig flash card more than enough room for samples. especially when you can so easily move files between computer HD and mpc compact card.

also, the compact card has no moving parts, making it more reliable, and probably faster than a HD. well unless you get a flash HD.

I've got stacks of 4GB cards that work fine (2GB is supposed to be limit), and guys here have got 8GB working too. Transcend, Sandisk Ultra and Kingston cards all work well. My Transcends are labelled 133x and the Sandisks say 15mbs/sec. Buy from Newegg or someone like that, some CF cards on eBay are Chinese bootleg crap that won't work. They are usually missing the "crossed out garbage can" icon on the back sticker.

An IDE HD for the 2500 will cost under $75 dollars, and the mounting bracket is standard on the 2500, so maybe you wanna do both?

I second that JJOSXL2 recommendation, the $129 will get you all 3 paid JJOS's.

I use 16GB Kingston cards, they work just as well. With JJOS2XL, that is.
