how in the **** do i get this to work.. i load up the shit pads wont work. can somebody explain how to set this up

You're tripping at the first hurdle bro.
Clearly you haven't peeped the manual. This is something you really ought to do. Download the pdf from Akai's website and keep it open while you explore your 1000. Hand's on/plus detailed instructions Win/Win.
If sounds were loaded one at a time or in bulk from a folder, they will not be on the pads unless the folder contains a .pgm file. You have to go to the lower left of your LCD Main screen and use the jog dial to put a sound on each individual pad (A1-D16). Then save that with sample as a .pgm. Then when you load the .pgm's you will get the result you expected.
Usually no one here will answer a question that basic. But once you have the basics down and your questions move to the intermediate level, anyone here will be more than happy to assist. I know it's confusing in the beginning, but stick to it and in a few looks you'll look back and laugh about your current struggles.
I highly recommend purchasing the MPC 1000 e-book on this site, it will be the best money you spent. It would probably accelerate your learning by 100-300%, anybody here will tell you the same.
