why mpc's are that big?

mpc 500 has less features and is smaller than mpc 2500 ok? if all features are just 0s and 1s, just software, why an mpc 2500 is that bigger? i mean a better mpc should be bigger only if filters, effects and so on were actual devices that held physical space into the mp. am i wrong? i am confused. why lets say a mpc 4000 is that bigger than a 2500, when every extra feature is just extra megabytes of software?

yes, i know what you mean, maybe my question is oversimplified.

so, all this space and weight has to do with the features, not the "beatmaking engine" itself.

but again. an mpc 2500 with a larger screen than a 500, with one etra slider 4 more pads and without the hard drive shouldnt be that heavier. ok, maybe a childish question, but im just curious.

you cant install a harddrive and cd player on a 500, the pads are also larger, they put more features on the screen, and i prefer the larger size, my 4k size is great, i dont wanna be huddled over a machine all night

Size matters. Simply as that. I can't understand how people can settle for an MPC 500. 12 pads, extra small display... Ok it is portable, as is my MPC 1000, but what you win in portability you lose on features. If you where to travel around the world would you not use a few huge bags so you can get as much clothes and stuff with you for the trip? But no you didn't, and now you're standing on the savanna with arctic clothes and the sweat is dripping...

that's part of the design.

you can replicate a lot of the functioning a desktop computer in a hand held phone but would you want to?

maybe you just got small hands

Bottom line is the 500 was designed for portability. What you've gained in portability, you'll lose in features.

Essentially they all do the same thing except with the 500 certain things may take you a lil longer to do.
(That's the reason I sold mine, after owning other MPC's the 500 has too much menu diving for me.)
