honestly i dont know if any of you out there are familiar with reason, midi keyboards and fast track pro's - as i know this is an MPC forum and not a reason/midi keyboard/interface forum. but im on here all the time, so i feel like some of you might be able to take a minute and give me a hand

basically im trying to use this old midi keyboard with reason, and i have a fast track pro, so im trying to use that as the interface right

i have the 1 midi out on the keyboard going into the midi input on the back of the fast track pro. then i have the usb on the fast track connected to my computer.

when i go into reason, set up the preferences, go to keyboards and control surfaces-then manufacturer-edirol, then model : midi keyboard control, then midi input : fast track pro.

basically everything seems to be connected and selected (or atleast to me it seems so, im most likely wrong about that clearly)
and when i select a new mixer, nn-xt and select a piano instrument for example (in reason), when i play the keys on the midi controller, i can see the "midi in" light- light up(on the fast track pro) when i press the keys. so its like the fast track pro is some how still recieving the signal, but no sound is coming out?

im completely stuck. i want to use this keyboard with my mpc and this is frustrating the hell out of me because ive been searching all over the web doing exactly what it says, and its all the same copy and pasted instructions you know?

if no one wants to help i understand, if someone has a minute or 2 who knows where im coming from, gimme a shout. totally up to you, peace and love.

hello mate.

I'm reasonably new to it all and have a similar set up.

I had the same problem also so I copped the using Reason with MPC tutorial from MPC-samples.com and it helped me rig it all up correctly.

It's really cheap!!!!

Beware though: once your set up is complete and you have a beat using Reason and the MPC. You can't record this song unless you have a 2 track recorder. Schoolboy error on my part thinking that would be possible!

Sorry I've not answered your question but the tutorial is well worth the purschase price
