Yo

I'm not sure the best way to search for previous posts with the questions I have, so here is a new post. If this has been answered already in another post please link it here.

Anyway...I just got a used MPC2000XL. Started sampling things with it today.

Can someone tell me how to adjust it so that when you hit a pad the note does not sustain, but rather gets cut by the next note played?

Seems like a straight forward function, maybe I am missing something looking through the manual.

Peace

go into program edit and assign the sound to the pad.
go to params and go to the bottom right and it will say 'poly'.
you can change this to mono or note off...mono means it will cut itself, note off means it will only play when you hold it down (tip: any sample with a loop set is forced to stay at note off).
if you want to have other sounds cut this sound, hit open window on this setting and you can assign two notes to cut it...or two notes that it will cut...i cant remember which way it works it is in the manual. no its not the most flexible thing in the world but deal with it.

do check that manual im telling you all this from memory.

Thanks guys...

I downloaded the manual, printed and bound it. Should keep me busy for a while.

Though the manual is pretty comprehensive, there are couple of things I can't manage to find in there. Possibly the functions don't exist.

1 - When you are in TRIM and you edit a sample, is there any way to undo the change you just made? EDIT: I just realized that it makes a new sample with the change. Duh.

2 - When naming a sound that you just sampled, is there a way to delete characters in the file name? I thought the erase key would do it but it does not.

Peace
