Hi everyone, I am just beginning to learn my new mpc 1000 and am having one large issue. I bought the ebook Making Beats on the MPC 1000 and installed JJOS and a 128mb hard drive with no issues. I started working on the tutorials however, and my pads don't seem to play the samples right. The kick on Pad 1 barely sounds, clicking really bad when it does, and usually multiple triggering with a series of clicks. The other low pads seem to be the same, triggering sporadically at very volume, but the higher ones playing sounds seem to do a bit better. I loaded 4 of my own hits on pads 1-4 and none of them would trigger correctly. I will try to record an example of what it sounds like, but what should I adjust? Are my pads defective? they should be the new kind.
Thanks for the great forum everything else I learned by searching,
Geoff

if the mpc is new like you said, this should happen....is it blue or black model, is the back I/O panel silver or black ?, what color are the pads ?, if you wiggle one of the pads does the corresponding pads move ?
