Zup guys,
What MPC should I buy? I'm a total rookie, never had a MPC before.

Is the soundquality the same? I'm choosing between MPC500/1000 or a used 2000XL.
I'm more into the 2000XL cuz I want that old school feeling, and I know it's mutch loved by the pro's.. But If I'm getting a 500 or 1000 I get it with warranty and brand new. What would you guys choose? Maybe a 2000XL wouldn't cost to mutch to fix if it get's broken later on?

Thanks, love from Sweden.

First try to think what you want to do and how the MPC will help you achieve that. Compare features. If you have other gear that you'd like to use in conjunction with the MPC try to figure out how it would work.

Personally I'd go with 1k. It's still supported, JJOS is actively developed and maintained, easy to get spare parts and it has tons of features that you'd might not need now but will appreciate later on.

Personally I'm not familiar with the 2000xl so some1 else can chime in on that.

fricken nailed it corn dog.

i don't know how experienced you are with the music techy world O.P... The 2KXL is beautiful but the "old school" is not always an advantage ...

either a 1000 or 2500 (which is basically just a bigger version of the 1000)

old school machines may have parts that wear out and may be hard to impossible, to find replacement parts.

personally i would buy an upgraded 1000 or call it a day and cop the 2500 (which im planning on doing sometime this year)

if you want the "old school" sound, sample from vinyl and use some outboard effect gear/processors and let the faster mpc models like the 1000/2500, do the work for you ie, chopping, sequencing, timestretching, more memory, easier file transfer
