Im having trouble with syncing

I followed the instructions from the link the forum provided to sync the MPC 1000 to ableton live and it's not working. I have a M-Audio firewire 410 I connected my MIDI OUT of the MPC into the m-audio, Firewire into the laptop (macbook pro 10.6..

When I set everything up on ableton (I set it at beat clock) and press play on my MPC the clock on ableton does not start it just stays at "1.1.1" . The version of my MPC is 2.13, if that helps. Right now im just troubleshooting to see why the information from the MPC is not being picked up by my mac.

Can anyone give me some help?

and if it helps my computer recognizes the Firewire but its not picking up the midi from the mpc..

MODE + PAD9 for MIDI settings... what are those set to?

Midi out: A

Midi in: off

Check the settings of your interface as well, you might have to let the computer know "hey, I'm using MIDI now". Also does Ableton know its suppose to read MIDI? Check the settings on that too.

BTW, you never said what you was trying to do. Are trying to control Ableton or record a track into Ableton?

I have it set to Midi Beat clock..and yes im trying to control ableton.

On the MPC? How do I find that?
