Hey guys, just had a query about Midi with the MPC1000 and couldn't find any answers on the forums (mainly because i didn't really know what to search) so started a topic. I'm a total newbie to MIDI so here goes:

Is it possible to use a synth as both a midi controller and sound module simultaneously? Basically I mean use it to input MIDI information into the MPC then the MPC send that MIDI back to the synth to make the sound? It would be really useful for looping basslines and stuff but i'm not too sure how it would be done.

The synth is a Novation XStation 25 and i'm running JJ OS1 4.99 by the way.
Thanks a lot :)

Novation Midi Out -> Mpc Midi In A
Mpc Midi Out 1 -> Novation Midi In

Select same Midi channel for both and start playing.
