Hello fellow beat makers =)
Long time lurker and user of Akai products..
Currently in studio we have an MPC 60 II & MPC 2000. Just got an MPC 1000 for my home and am going to up grade the crap out of it!!
Things I've noticed about the 1000:
-cf card pins are easily damaged =( (thankfully there's an internal drive option)
*Thanks to MPC Stuff new hard drive should be here in 5 days
-pads are so-so (an upgrade to fat pads is next)
-JJ OS is the BOMB! (first thing I did was install it)
Overall I love the 1000!! Smaller than the 2000 but just as powerful. The swing seems to be stronger than the 2000 but with the right attenuation you can make it groove...The bit grinder option doesn't reach that MPC 60 12 bit sound but is a nice tool........
Great job by Akai on the MPC 1000...Hopefully I'll be able to contribute to the forum
cheers!
