OK, background before the dumb questions. My music partner and I have her raw audio tracks and the floppy disks containing the drum tracks created on a 2000xl that had all the bells and whistles with the outputs going into a multi-track board. We want to redo the mix and we picked up a 2000xl that doesn't have the output expansion or the FX cards. I do have a DAW running Cubase 5 and a Gina card I could use as a midi interface.
Can I just load the songs on the mpc and hit play and record the midi through the Gina midi ports into a midi track in Cubase?
Somewhere I wrote down which mpc sound program he used but once I go into Cubase won't it play sounds based on the instrument I assign to the track?
