Just a quick question, are there any preferences (specifications) to the file I can transfer. As I have just exported several 24-bit small pieces of audio, transfered them to my MPC with no difficulty, but they will not load or play even though I can select them from the Load screen on the MPC.

So I'm guessing there are several specifications such as bit/rate maybe size. But it is not in the manual. Anyone fill me in

Thankyou

Give me some keywords atleast :P I can never find what I want from forum searching. Only get within proximity but never the full cigar!

also dunno if this is purely a false assumption, but there is audio already on my card as its the one that came with the MPC. I presume that it is already formatted

Another way to easily check out the required format of audio files is yes, the default sounds that came with your machine (you should have tried to load them by now right) on cf are probably from akai and are probably formatted correctly already. Load one of those sounds into a wave editor on your computer and check the properties of that. And that will let you know what format it is, hence you follow the lead on that.

goldwave (pc)
wavosaur (pc)
audacity (pc) are freeware wave editors

Last I checked it was listed right on the specificaton page at the back. Did you look there?
