Today I bought an Akai MPK mini. My laptop doesn't have a CD drive, and I don't have an external one, so I downloaded the software from Akai's website. I'm trying to use it with FL Studio 10, but it's not working. When I open up the MPK mini editor and press upload, it only says "upload successful" when FL isn't open. When I open FL I make sure I have the MPK mini selected, and open FPC but it makes no sound from my controller. I've watched many video tutorials on youtube and everyone just opens it up and it works for them. Searching it I also found that many people had the same problem but I didn't find an answer.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section or anything, I'm new here and just want to get started.

You may also need to create your mapping on the MPK to control the FPC. FPC doesn't default to a chromatic MIDI note arrangement. If you want the order of the keys to match the FPC you may need to hit each FPC pad and look in the upper left corner of FL's screen and see what MIDI note # each pad is mapped to.

The same maybe for the MPK's pads although obviously you'll have to map the 2 banks to cover the 16 pads of the FPC.

You can maybe also just re-map the FPC assignments so that the pads are MIDI notes 36-51 although I never bothered trying that if it's possible. A chromatic mapping like that will line up with almost any keyboard or pad controller even off some of the presets as most them usually go in chromatic order, the presets labelled GM Drums (General MIDI) have the notes out of order.
