Song Mode....

Hi

Can anyone tell me how to make my sequences play in a song mode do you have to go into trim and unloop your samples? I have read this section over and over in the manual and cant understand it. I entered my sequence into the song and set it to play 4 times and I got no sound maybe I have not got the outputs right but they output fine when I set a few samples to play from different outputs. You know beat coming thru channel1 Bass loop thru channel 2 etc.. I just cant get the sequence to play in song mode~!!

Have you tried playing the sequence by itself, without going into the song mode?

Because as far as I know, if you are able to play the sequence by itself it should be play fine in the song mode.

A sequence can be a sampled sound? yes ? no?

I can play my samples via the drum pads no problem.

Do you have to record these samples first before you can play them in a song?

Or can you just sample your sounds and then place them in a song?

Well yes and no, a sequence can consist of a single sound or from almost as many sounds as you want.

Yes you have to record the sounds into a sequence in order for them to play back.


Do you have the manual / have you read it?

Yes I do have manual and I have read alot of it but some of the things in there I am finding hard to understand, hence my post.

man record your sound or sounds to a sequence then go into song mode and select that sequence and play it as many times as you would like. If you have trouble hit me back with specifics -peace

I know how to create a song.

So now for some specifics, Say sequence 1 was a beat and that played for 8 bars if Iwanted to add my bass line what is the easiest way.

For instance if sequence 2 was the b-line can you play sequence 1 & 2 together? I have just worked it out, you would record your bass line to sequence 2 with your beat and create a new sequence! right.

you can copy the 1st sequence to sequence 2. Then just add the bassline on another track on sequence 2 and you're set!

Can you explain the track system I read last night that you cana have 99 tracks per sequence, so how do you go about recording on them go into track field select the track and overdub on what you have done say you did a beat you would maybe do your bassline on another track.

Is this so you can mute these when you need to I dont really understand the advantage of having them, I realised yesterday all I have to do is create my sequences and play them in song mode.

Can anyone explain the advantage of tracks coz I would have thought everyone just made sequences....to create their elements of a song then piece them together in song mode.
