Hi everyone,
Im having a frustrating night trying to set up my Mpc1k to be used as a controller for the drum rack in ableton. I am running the midi out (A) of my MPC 1000 to the midi in of my 1x1 M-audio midisport.

MPC settings r as followed
Sync in: Off
Sync out: A

My midi on the right of the main screen is set to 1A

In ableton my settings r the following:

When i hit a pad the light of my midisport goes on so i know it reaches it, ableton doesnt seem to reconize it though.

I spent the night looking through forums and the akai guide to settting up with ableton, no success. Either i am doing something wrong or not looking at the right place.

Any idea whats up?

Have U tried it with 'track' option highlighted in ableton. That way in ableton on your drum racks track U should be able to select the midisport as an input.

And then on your mpc you just gotta make sure that your selected track is set to the same midi channel as the one on your drum racks track in ableton.. And also make sure your drum racks pads aren't setup to be any lower than C1..so they aren't out of range of your mpc pads notes (by default)

Oh and your drum racks track has to be set to 'in' unless the track is armed for record. In which case 'auto' as you have it will work.
