Sorry if this has been discussed before: I did some searching through old threads that touched upon the topic, but nothing cut and dry that answered my question specifically.
thanks in advance to anyone that can offer me any insight!
I'd like to hook up my korg padkontrol to an mpc500 to play drum parts live using the drum samples that I'd be loading onto the 500. If possible, would I be able to:
1) trigger the drum samples via the korg and play sequences and/or trigger loops/samples on the mpc pads at the same time?
2) recall settings/mappings without having to re-assign the pads on the korg once either unit is powered down?
3) be able to switch sample banks on the mpc (without having to assign the same drum samples to every bank) while keeping the same pad assignment on the korg?
sorry if these are basic questions but I have no experience with any MPC product. my apologies!
I'm sure it sounds like a stupid setup, but I want to keep my set-up affordable, and compact/mobile while having access to as many pads as possible, and avoid the use of my laptop... I just was thinking that if I could use the 500 as a midi sound module for my padkontrol while still being able to trigger sounds from the 500 at the same time it would be ideal for what I'm trying to accomplish!
I'd be most appreciative to anyone that can offer any insight/suggestions.
thanks again.
