I am looking for a place to buy or preferably download snare roll samples. Not drum line type samples like dada da da dada dada da da da. More of quick bldldldldldldld kind of things. Does anyone know of a good place to find these samples? I am willing to pay for a bunch, I have 8 or 9 right now but am afraid in the near future I will be running thin. Thank you.

just sequence your own with samples, and make use of velocity, layers ect
do you mean like old tekno snare rolls that build up or like big band drum rolls for magic tricks ?

this,

note repeat is a handy feature, if you have ?
certainly for sketching out ideas, which you can then edit.

personally i look to the dance world. they're drum and build crazy - dig around , sample some stuff and play around with it. :)

As already stated, make your own from single hit samples. Take any snare, copy it to two pads. On both pads take off some attack to make them sound softer. Tune one down a fraction to make it sound a little different. Or ideally grab two 'takes' of the same snare (most drum breaks will give you several different timbres of snare) and use those. Play them with your fingers and record to the sequencer. Further tweak in STEP EDIT.

Thank you for all of the advice. I am looking for rolls to create a real feel in Hip Hop. So, not like the techno rolls. Also, from what I have found with the MPC is the note repeat only goes to 32nd notes. Is that why you are suggesting I should play them with quantize off? Also, is there a way to reply to a single post on the thread without having to private message someone? Thank you

So what if it maxes at 32nd notes... That's flam at that speed not rolling. 16th is still very inhuman as well...

My suggestion for a real snare roll would be to take quantization off, place your snare sample on two different pads and hit both pads back and forth in quick succession. This would simulate doing a real snare roll on a real drum set...
