Bass drums and other ish

I was wondering if anybody can explaine some good patterns to lay down drums. I like how the RZA seems to double up his kick or bass drum but i cant seem to get the same effect. Is it his masterin or just layered drums or somthing i dont know?

they key is too find matching sounds, in this way, you should just layer 2 basskicks on 1 pad, en try editing the velocity, and tuning(playing with the frequency is also an good idea)..
ps. rza always resampled his drums from a tapedeck.. maybe you should try that out.. or use an tape effect filter on your computer or sumthin
