Sup!

Got a question.
Im setting up my REN and i want to use the Asio drivers.
But when i select them, then i get NO sound from my onboard soundcard. Is there anyway to make this work?

When i hook up my Beats by Dre directly to the REN it works but my speakers dont...

Hope you can help me out!

Cheers,
Mitch.

why dont you just use your soundcard? if you have a decent interface they should be better than your stock drivers anyway. i would say almost any external interface is probably better, but i dont know that for sure. the asio ones are the ones connected to your pc, so when you use them it ignores your audio interface/soundcard and plays out the line outs or headphone outs of your computer instead.

Try going in control panel and making the Ren's interface the default one for all the windows audio tasks and disable the Realtek, I'm assuming Realtek is the on board (Don't uninstall, just disable, possibly may need to in Device Manager too).

There's a good chance this will make the Ren's interface act as the global one for all Windows sound. I'm not sure the Ren driver is multi client ASIO so you may only be able to have one audio stream at a time. No DAW+Internet/media player at the same time perhaps.

ASIO4All could probably get you multi client (2 at a time) if the Akai ASIO won't, even as an emulated ASIO driver.
