MPC 2000xl to Akai EIE

Hey everyone been a long time since I have been here or used my music equipment. I have numerous hardware and my primary is an MPC 2000xl and I recently bought a Akai EIE audio interface and Imac.

I plan to run logic to record and was curious to whats the best way to hook up the MPC to the EIE to record into logic? says 4 inputs in back, but what about Midi?

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but just started back up in the production game after battling some family deaths and issues.

This is a Cubase setup guide for newer MPC's, but the MIDI stuff is basically the same even on an older MPC.

Basically MPC MIDI out to interface in, MPC MIDI in to interface out. Then refer to walkthrough to set up proper MIDI/MMC sync to have either the MPC's transport control Cubse's play/rec or vice versa. (MPC as MIDI master, MPC will start/stop Cubase, Cubase as MIDI master, cubase will start/stop MPC

thematterlp, I've had 3 family deaths recently, all unexpected so I know how you feel. Hold your head as I'm sure you are. I'm glad to hear you're ready to make some music, it's helps to heal once you feel mentally ready to do it again.

dmcsb, are you having any of the noise static issues I've heard about the EIE? I have no experience with one, but use the search here and check Gearslutz and other sites, I've seen other people have problems with the EIE units. Hopefully after a little digging other owners can offer some help.

Thanks metatron, a lot of stuff has changed in regards to music and set up. Updating my zip to a flash drive and going to be purchasing the help guide for the MPC with Logic.
