How to turn off one shot on the MPC 2500

I play a sample and it continues playing even after I strike the next pad. How do I turn off the one shot on the MPC 2500 ?

Ive never used a 2500 but Im pretty sure its called "mute groups", look that up in the manual and youre home.
You basically tell the mpc to make selected sounds cut eachother off.

press the WINDOW button in the PROGRAM screen for that specific pad. switch to NOTE ON. that will make the sound play for as long as you're holding the pad down...

however it sounds more like you want one pad within a program to cut off the previous... in that case, just switch your PROGRAM play setting from POLY to MONO.
