Yo

I'm not from USA so sorry for my language mistakes.

I've got problem, cuz I make beats a long time but I still think it's not that what I want.
When I got sample and than chop it on slices I make really good beats.
But when I try to lay my drums to loop I got problems.
I don't know where should I put snare (when i got snare I can put kicks) ?
When I got oryginal snare in my loop I can overlay, but when I don't have oryginal usually it don't sound good-> without rythm
Next and more important question : How I can set speed of my sample.
I know where I can chech tempo but I don't know how can I choose to sounds it good, not too speed not too slow?

I will upload some of my beats a bit later.

Sorry once again and thank in advance to ya'all.

Peace

That makes two of us.

Little more info would help (like which mpc you use)
but you can adjust the sample using the tune control on the mpc.
If you use this it will also affect the tuning so if you need to keep the sample in tune with the rest of your beat you will need to timestretch it.
Your mpc may or may not have this function depending on which model you have.

Ok,thanks a lot.

So I'm not alone ;)

I'm using 4k.

Yes,I can use time scretch but I don't know when I should make it longer or make it shorter.Sometimes neither one is good ;/

Ok,I play with tune but it also change speed, but I know that is possibility to change just tune.

Shortly:
1)I've got a loop with drums->I overlay snare and kicks but I can also add kicks. It's not problem.
2)I got a loop without drums->I recoprd my own drums and it sounds good.

But there is 3rd option: I got a loop(with or without drums) but it's speed isn't good for me and when I use time scratch or B.P.M and than lay drums it don't helps,it's still doesn't fit..Or maybe I still can't use it ?->If you could write me a short tutorial it will be great.

I always make beats for 4 bars,and than I just set tempo(mostly around 80-90).
I got loop and record drums and hi hat but it don't makes one piece,I mean it's don't sounds good.

Maybe I will upload my 1 good(IMO) track chopped,1 good(IMO) track with loop from wax and 1 bad track and you will tell me what is wrong?

BTW:What is the difference between time scretch and option in checking tempo and than changing speed of sound?

Peace,thanks again

Yes, upload them, because if pitch tuning and time stretch is not what you mean by speeding samples then I'm gonna need more clues.

Ok,thanks a lot for help.

So: https://soundcloud.com/scandaloudz/sets

I like 144 (chopped on slices) and 148 (i used loops)

And Sample 1 is not good for me,drums are not there where they should be.
But i tried to slow and speed up sample but it don't helps?

Any ideas?

I will upload more beats, and I will ask you for help what should I change but that in futer and not in that thread.

Peace! Thanks

i dont know exactly what you think is wrong with the beat, i liked the first one better, as the second one sounded a bit robotic, but with some practice, i think you will get more natural sounding drums with time. both of the beats had the drums going right

for a basic beat, you should be putting your snares on the 2 and 4 of each beat.

check out crossfade looping of your samples, that might be what your looking for.

after you loop each chop, you can slow down the sample and speed up the sample, and the crossfaded part will fill in the gaps of silence and make your beat sound less choppy.
although i didnt see that as being a problem in either of these beats.

hope this helps.
