LPD8 with ACID 6

I'm really not technically adept and am getting no results in trying to connect the LPD8 in ACID Pro 6. It's being recognized by ACID, but I don't know how to assign effects or sounds to the LPD8. The manual is only useful if you're adept at this sort of thing. I can insert a bus in ACID, but any effect I put in just affects the whole loop with no response from the LPD8.

I would like to be able to add sounds and add effects to existing tracks from the LPD8. I've already wasted more that 12 hours and gotten nowhere.

If you're expecting a quick answer, this is probably the wrong forum. Is there not a forum out there for Acid?
