Depends on the turntable:
- If yours says "Phono" out only, it's a good idea, for the Phono Preamp.
- But some have "Line" or "Digital" outs. In which case you don't need a mixer to hook it up to the MPC1000.
We can check it for you if post the make and model here.
But I alone can't advise you on what mixer to get - I'm A Digital Boy...

I use a Vestax PMC-05 pro, but thats mainly because i do a lot of skratches and cuts so I give the faders sh*t. The faders on all PMC's are indestructable. Depends wat you want to do with it - do you cut? Or just sample from the table? Do you want to simultaenously record thru other sources at the same time? You might need an 8 channell or something, dont worry about phantom power, i've found my mixer puts out more than enough to have the sampler on the MPC clipping. (i've got the 2kXL but i would assume that inputs are relatively similar - mind you, assumption is the mutha of all f*ck ups so check it out)

I'd check the line in but I would assume *again* that it'd be the same as your MPC most likely - probably a much lower output on the mixer main{not trim or gain on the turntable channel} would suit it, but yeh i'd say the same as ur MP...
