So this is my current setup^^^
24 bit interface hooked up to the 2kxl, into the computer. I'm not even sure how to utilize it like this. I've just ordered a Numark M101 dj mixer, (not even sure if this is compatible with my MPC) Numark PT01 USB tt, & an HP9600SE external SCSI cd drive.

Will this mixer work with the MPC? I tried searching online and couldn't find an answer to my question. Same with the TT?

Also thought about getting an external zip drive as well, since I also have the internal zip drive installed. Opinions?

I haven't even received the TT or mixer yet, but i'm curious as to what cables/cords I'll need to connect all of these devices together, or if they'll even work together. Can anyone confirm that I've went the right or wrong route with my equipment purchases?

Curious why you purchased a DJ mixer and the USB table?
If you go with the DJ mixer hen use a normal table, if you go with the PT01 the use it's built in pre amp.

it's usually a good idea to do your research BEFORE buying gear rather than after.

as mentioned, that turntable has a built-in preamp so you won't need to use the dj mixer... the turntable can connect directly to the MPC. as far as what cables are needed... simply use your eyes and look at what kind of connections the turntable has as outputs and what kind the MPC uses for inputs... then buy a cable to connect those 2 things.

and what makes you think you also need an external ZIP drive if you already have an internal one? sounds like you really need to stop and think for a second, homeslice...

Back when I had an internal 2kxl zip I also had an external usb zip. I connected the usb zip to my computer. This enabled me to use a "transfer" zip disk. I took a blank zip disk, formatted it in winxp, fat, and used that to transfer 44/16 wavs to mpc.

Later on I changed internal zip to mcd, less headaches, usb cf reader and was doing the same thing as before but now with cf cards, no moving parts no wear and tear unless you get frisky and slam cards into the reader causing bent pins, but that never happens right, lol. I knew better, but others, impatient, bent pins everywhere.

dude i wouldn't even get a single ZIP drive knowing all about the "click of death" now... much less 2 of them... got the hot-swappable CF/SD drive in mine and never looked back... i'm actually in the process of selling my 2000xl since it's been getting neglected for about a year now and i could use the extra cheese... :?

Lampdog pretty much explained why I would be using an external zip drive. Yes, I may already have an internal zip drive, but how in the hell do you think im supposed to upload sounds onto a zip disk using only the MPC-built-in zip drive to get sounds ONTO the MPC itself G? With a **** external zip drive fool. Maybe you should use your brain before actually asking such a question homeslice. Why not have more than one option at hand?

Plus that way I can load/save new sequences, programs, or songs without having to use a new cd everytime...

You may wanna run away from zips though at your earliest convenience. Click of death is ALWAYS looming and staring over your shoulders. Moving parts wear out over time.

i'm laughing out loud at this muthafugga right here telling ME to "use my brain" in a thread where he's asking how to use the equipment he himself purchased while uncertain if he even bought the right stuff in the first place... sorry if i offended you, dude... i'm outta here... good luck learning this sh!t on your own like you're supposed to be doing in the first place...

The general rule of thumb is that if you're asking what cables cords you need, then you're in no position to operate the devices at the end of those cables. Start simpler (i.e. with just the MPC) then add devices as your needs naturally evolve. In other words, you're currently a worm asking how to be a lizard. But it just doesn't work that way. You have to bask in your worminess. Oh and read http://tweakheadz.com/posts/for-noobs/
