new to producing

i got a mac that came with logic ,reason and i think a native instruments plug(i barley know how logic works but im learning ) i bout a mpk 49, im learning logic and i wanted to know if anyone can give me info on why you would need logic and reason, also info on anything else i would need to create the best work, like i dont even know what a audio interface is used for im new to this and spend tons of time on youtube trying to learn so thanks for your help

simple answer is you dont need both, they both do essentially the same thing, just in different ways. (well as far as beatmaking/music creation goes, logic does more than reason in mixing/mastering/ getting a song from a "beat" to an album ready piece of work)

logic is a digital audio workstation (daw) that is very very good at music creation, while reason is mainly used for music creation. logic can be used to mix a song, sync audio to video, master a song, while reason is made for beat making.

one is not really better than the other in the music creation aspect, it just depends on your workflow, but you will be able to get a finished product out there easier just using logic than you would just using reason.

that being said, some people use reason inside of logic/protools/insert favorite DAW here because they like the sounds and instruments that reason has, but they like the sequencer/workflow ect. in logic.
