2000 memory upgrade?

my buddy just hooked me up with a zip for my 2000.... good deal but i still only have the stock memory.... i have been trying to find info on how to install the 16meg memory upgrades but the best i have found is using simms connections???? i checked mpc sounds.com(<---i think thats what it was) and they had a 16 meg kit with a cord for like 50 bucks.... i go to ebay and theyr selling 32 megs for 11bucks.... the inconsistency is killing and confusing me... i just want to know the ways that i can install more memory on my 2000.... if anyone could just lay it out for me i would really appreciate it.. thanks in advance

I have an XL... I bought the 32Megs kit off of ebay for like 16 bucks... If it's the same (which I'm almost certain it is)...

Then you can install either 16 Megs (with which the stock 2 megs gives you a combined total of 18megs) or you can install the 32 Megs kit (when this is installed the stock 2 megs cancels out leaving you with only 32 Megs)...

As far as a cord or whatever... I have no clue what thats for because the XL memory was easy as sh*t to install... I figured it out myself...

Theres 2 SIMM card slots inside your MPC... Connect the two 16Meg SIMM cards into those slots and Voila that's it...

Just wait until someone else with the original 2k comes on and responds though cause I'm not 100% sure whether this is the same from 2k to XL...
