i have owned a 2000 and I am thinking about getting another MPC
i m considering a 3000 with vga out since if the screen goes bad i'll never have to worry
anythoughts?

I think most problems with the 3000 are the backlight going out....which they are readily available for $30-50. The 2000xl gets lines in the screen as does the 4000 (over time).

The 500 doesn't have screen issues. In fact, it has a switch to turn off and on the backlight. Only if you punch the LCD it will leak out the crystal liquid and permantly be bruised. Bought mine new in 2006 and still bright.

i think the mpc 1k is pretty uncommon to have screen issues too, and new ones are always readily available.
