Program Change

Hello everyone,

can anybody explain me what is program change? I see I can set a program change event during step editing and I was wondering what is pc.

Is it an event that makes the mpc change the sound module which is reproducing a midi event in a midi track?

It just pretty much changes the sounds in the sequence rather than altering it. Programs is where you put your samples and/or kits. So one program could have a bunch of snares, and you don't like it for that particular track, change it to another program that has another set of snares and it will still be on time with the sequence but the only thing changed was the snare. Just think of your programs as the palette that holds the colors.
