mpc 1000 outputs

do a lot of you guys use the 4 assignable outputs when producing?

...strange question....

if you want to track out in one rush, you better use them.....
if you're on stage, playing raw sessions as a mpc jockey, you better use them....

if you're sitting at home with nothing but a headphone and a mpc....you better don't use them....

Can you provide some example on how to use the multiple audio out? I am not sure myself how that could be well used - I've played live gigs with my mpc and I am sure I am not using it to it's potential

If you use the four outs into a mixer, you can have more direct control over your levels/layering.

I'd use a channel for Bass, 2 for Melody (if you want to have proper panning) and one High Frequency. Either that or have one melody, and then one for like a lead high-frequency sound (snare).

You can do this all within the MPC...but the interface doesn't lend itself as directly to control in a live performance.

Live settings are never consistant so you may need to adjust your internal mixer settings (like if the bass is to overpowering through the external speakers).

This is also all dependent on what kind of music you are making...

Do you have any extra compressors? Reverb units? Guitar Pedals? Filters? Ring Modulation effects?

This is some of the many uses you may find yourself trying with the multi-outs for your mpc. You don't need to do this of course, but if you want to try to experiment and see what it can do to your sounds, you'll probably find something dope to use, and possibly give a little bit of oompf to your sounds. You can find guitar pedals or sometimes rackmount effects in pawn shops, or music stores. Sometimes they're cheap, and having a few around is sometimes cool to use on synths, or for making some distorted bassline or crunchy drum beats.

Just some of the uses for your multi outs...

stereo out - for sample / main melody

Out 1/2 for Bass / low passed shit
out 3/4 for Drums.

And

Sometimes i have my INPUT THRU going straight out of the outputs 3/4 so i can play and record my synth from the MPC without recording it IN the mpc - this is a life saver for real.

depending on what i need my effects on, and what i can filter, it may change. (ie might have Drums going out STEREO as im using a compressor inside the mpc) or i might use the STEREO out for bass cos im chopping some high out with the EQ.

either way, it saves me a **** of time when tracking.
