did you at least try to change one of the note values in that page?
here is how it works: choose a pad by hiting it and then use the data wheel or the plus and minus keys to change the value.
you can see that you have changed from the original value if the note value has a star at the first position.
you then can save this layout with a new program so you do not have to do it again.
the default layout is the gm (general midi) layout, that is the reason why it is not chromatic like on a keyboard.
