How to track beats into pro tools

Hey so I just picked up the M-track audio interface that comes with Pro Tools Express.

Im completely lost as Im the only one of my friends who makes beats so basically what I was hoping was someone who uses pro tools or knows the process of how to track beats from MPC 1000 into pro tools could help me out with how to do so.


Iv got my 2 audio cables attached to my mpc and the 2 midi cables aswell though iv heard you dont need to midi sync to track out beats to DAWs..


HELP ME PLEASE

these questions you are asking are really basic, you should use your tools to try and figure it out.
youtube has so many tutorials on this kind of stuff.

I would say learn the basics of the DAW, before you try to track out some beats. If you don't, what the hell you gonna do with the beats once they're tracked out?

You first need to make sure that Pro Tools is set to work with your audio interface, check that it is the chosen interface under Setup/Playback Engine (or Hardware Setup), something like this, but with M-Track instead of HDX...




Create some audio tracks, mono or stereo depending on what you want to record.

Then you set the input and output for each track, using the dropdown boxes that are shown when you click on the input or output boxes in the IO section of the Pro Tools Mix or Edit windows...




When you have a track set to the correct input and output, record enable it, press the small R (or record circle) button on the track, and see if you get signal into that track, setting the gain on your audio interface appropriately to give a good level, on that Pro Tools track level meter, without clipping.








If you want to check that your audio output is working correctly, you can insert a Signal Generator plugin onto a track, and check that you can hear the signal being output from your audio interface.

you need to stop making all these threads with the same questions worded differently, learn how to use protools, its a fine daw. all of them work the same more or less.
watch those tutorial videos and use what simon posted above to help yourself learn this stuff.
we cant spoon feed you everything, you need to try to learn how to use these tools that you have.

look up how to track out beats inside the mpc if tracking it into your daw is too complicated for you.
